Yesterday was the official promotion event for my Assistant Manager promotion from May. We invited four other people who were also recently promoted to come and enjoy the day with me, so all 5 of us officially got promoted together.
In the morning, everyone came out to a hotel in East Hartford for the promotion speeches and formal proceedings. My parents came out to hear Josh talk about me and listen to my promotion speech, which everyone really loved. It was a good time to get to hang out with a number of managers and other people who are at various points in the program. When everyone gave their promotion speeches, half of the people hit the field and the other half just hung out.
After our day in the field, everyone went out to the Cambrense Cafe in Hartford for the actual promotion party. It was a really wonderful time hanging out with all of the people, especially because the party was in my honor. I met a lot of fun people and danced the night away. It's amazing how much people want to talk to you and be your friend when you're successful or seen as being important. Being sober and loving to dance really helped me thoroughly enjoy my evening. It was a once in a lifetime type of experience and one that I will always remember.
Last week, I actually went to another promotion party in NYC, which was also a lot of fun. We went down to Manhattan to support a couple of other people getting promoted, in a similar party to the one that we had last night. I ended up meeting a young lady that was very interested in me, but nothing is going to come of that.
Everything is really related to work right now, with a couple of big trips coming up in the next couple months. I will be taking a business trip to Waterford from Wednesday to Saturday of this week. I'm headed out to Los Angeles for Business Building Blocks in the middle of August and then off to Puerto Rico in September! Even though I'm not loving the way things are going in the office, at least there are some big things coming up that I'm looking forward to.
In other news, Romz and Behna are mired in a huge fight which seems like it'll be ending their relationship. I haven't had much contact with many members of the Administration, because of all of my time being monopolized with work. I just need to keep finding a way to stay focused.
